A female United Kingdom age 26-29, anonymous writes:

Me and my boyfriend have been together since we were young, and started to have sex in August last year, I'm on the pill and for medical reasons the doctor told me to miss my 7 day break last month, although this month I can go on my 7 day break, I have only missed 1 of my pills but picked it back up the next day. But for some reason I'm not getting my period. Am I pregnant or is my body just trying to get use to the pill?

Thankyou

A female reader, k_c100 United Kingdom +, writes (26 January 2010):

k_c100 agony auntHow far through your 7 day break are you? As in how many days has it been since your last pill?

If you missed a pill there is a small chance you could be pregnant if you had sex without using a condom within 7 days of that missed pill. But the chance is quite small so it is more likely that your body's natural rhythm is a bit messed up because you missed your last 7 day break, so it may take your body a while to settle back into your natural cycle.

But I cant really help much more than that unless I know the answer to my first question above and also, when does your period normally come in your 7 day break? e.g. does it come on the 3rd day of your break? 5th day? etc.
