writes: Please help I need some advice in regards to the plan B pill. Im really ashamed. I took the plan b pill twice nearly two weeks apart in december. Im normally on bc but had switched to a more convenient bc method that gave me bad side effects so Im switching back to my old method. The first time I took plan B was dec 15th, five days after I started bleeding but it wasnt like a period in that there were no blood clots and the blood was a much deeper red and bleeding was more severe, I get heavy periods anyway but this was worse, even for me. That time I took it because we had stupidly used the pull out method. I decided I shouldnt use plan b again however dec 26 the condom broke as my bf orgasmed he pulled out after cuz something felt " weird" he said and discovered the break but he had basically cum inside me; so 3 days after I took it again, so the 29th was the say I took the pill(s) itself. Ifeel ashamed for doing that as I never do. I have only taken plan B four times including these two in a span if seven years. Im kicking muself for not abstaining the firdt time. Btw Im in a committed relsationship and my fiance and I are set to marry this year so thetes no chance of stds and hes not cheating nor am I suspicous of it. So my questions are have I hurt my body by doing this? I will vertainly never make the mistakes again. And could I be pregnant, Ive felt extremely bloated and tired but I have read these could be due to the plan b. Thank you for help.

If that is the case, it may not have worked. The morning after pill should be taken ASAP, but can be taken up until 72 hours after unprotected sex. However, its effectiveness decreases as time goes on. So yes, there is a chance you could be pregnant. But from personal experience, I found that the morning after pill made me feel quite ill, with severe cramps and heavy bleeding that mucked up my cycle. You should speak to your GP - they'll be able to tell you what's happening. Also, maybe consider changing to a more reliable form of BC... maybe the coil or injection would suit you better...?

I just re-read and one of my sentences is confusing. What I mean is that if you took plan B on top of another hormonal birth control pill, if it didn't make you sick within the first 24 hours or so, it probably won't have any long term harm from that one time. Otherwise you shouldn't take them both.

You should be fine, call your pharmacist and they can answer any questions. Did you take plan B on top of a hormonal birth control pill? Because you should not do that, though if you didn't have any issues it's not going to cause problems in the future.
Also I notice you mention him stopping after as something weird, in the future if you use condoms he should always stop as soon as he's done as continuing can cause breaking or slipping.
You're probably not pregnant. Bloating and tiredness are symptoms of stress, of gas, of lack of sleep, of just about every negative feeling or activity in the world.
Just call your pharmacist to put your mind at ease.
