A male United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I just told my girlfriend that I am gay. It pretty much killed her and I feel like shit. I know I had to do it and it was the hardest thing that I have ever had to do. I stay with her to comfort her but I don't really know how or what to say. I keep telling her that it will get better but Idk what else to say to help

The Realist agony auntFirst off I applaud you for being true to yourself because that is the hardest part. Let her know that you still want to be part of her life but you had to tell her this to avoid leading her on.

Know matter when you told her it was going to be tough and time will be the best thing for her. Just stay with her and allow her to ask you the questions she needs for closure.
