writes:This girl called kelly seemed quite interested in me and i really like her, but then after talking to her for awhile [By text, we dont live close] it seemed as if she didnt like me so i stopped bothering her for a couple of weeks which was hard because i really like her but it was probably best for me not to like her even more and hurt myself. But recently i texted her because i missed speaking to her and she was really short with me, almost as if she was annoyed i had stopped talking to her, what should i do? and also what would you say about this... One night i was in bed and she texted me asking me to go out late at night because someone random man had mugged her and she was upset so i went out.everyone else i spoke to said she hadnt been mugged at all, why would she say that? and why would she want me out so much but now seems like she doesnt really want to know me? Thanks.

reader, anonymous, writes (2 September 2011): If she can lie about something like that, she can lie about anything. It seems as if she is just trying to keep her options open, some girls think playing hard to get or being hot and cold with a guy makes the guy chase her, clearly she does.
if you really like her think about how you would feel if you fell in love with her and she lied about something else? always look at the bigger picture, being spontaneous is okay but sometimes you have to think about the future.
If you continue holding on to her you will miss out on everyone else.
take a break, chill for a while and see if she makes an effort to talk to you and doesn't lie again but if not then there's plenty more fish in the sea right?

 She sounds like a bit of a manupliater to me. I wouldn't invest to much time and thought on her unless she starts making a bit of an effort too.

I had the same situation man, except for the mugging part thats really confusing. Im sorry she might not like you, usually when a girl starts short talking you they get bored of u. Have you asked her to hang out? If she makes alot of excuses, im sorry but most girls have no lifes they are just saying that too blow you off
