A female United Kingdom age 36-40, anonymous writes:

Hey there

I hope u have a few mins this is quite a long one :-)

Me and my boyfriend had quite a turbulent relationship for the last year(i was with him for a year)

and we split up about 2 months ago. I got talking to a guy from uni, over the internet, and we were talking about how difficult relationships are, and how hard it is to break up. He said he had found it really difficult splitting from his girlfriend of 2 1/2 years..they split up 3 months ago because of the distance between them and bacause they both felt that the time was not right to continue the relationship.

Last week this guy asked me on a date.He took for for a lovley meal, paid for everything, he said it was the first date he had been on for 2 1/2 years and at the end of the night he said i seemed like a lovley girl, he had a lovley time and he was so glad he asked me out and could he se me again that week.

I saw him two nights later, he came round to watch a film.He phoned me three times a day and text me lots. The followin night he invited me to his friends 21st, but i couldnt make it. He came round afetr the party, he stayed over..we didnt sleep together we just cuddled all night. The next night i stayed over at his and we ended up sleeping together, The sex was so sensual and i felt like we were making love. In the morning he left to go on holiday, but came back an hour later on the way to the aiport as he said he wanted to see me again. He then calld me before he got on the plane, and text me when he arrived in Spain.

From all of these things i presumed he was pretty keen and liked me quite a lot.

On sunday i went out with my friends and saw my ex. The guy i had been seeing who i will call 'john' asked me if i saw my ex and what happened etc...i replyed that nothing bad happened.he then started asking me if i still loved my ex and i replied, im not sure. He started saying 'i still love my ex, i hope i get back with her in the future' then started saying 'i really dont mind if u wat to get back with ur ex..i wont be ofended'

I felt really hurt so i retaliated saying i also hoped to get back with my ex(which is not true)..Im so so confused.

I genuinley thought he liked me from his actions, but now he just keeps mentioning his ex. Im so confused???

Can anyone please give me an outside opinion??please please do

Thankyou so much :-) x x x

ilovebowsandcherries agony auntomg how random!

perhaps he's trying to figure a way to get out of his relationship but i mean he shouldn't have said that he does hope to get back with his ex in the future that;s unfair on you.

maybe he feels you want your ex back and he's saying that to try and get you to react with what he said see if you really care for him.

you need to tlak to him about this find out what he really meant because if he is pulling you along by a string then you are giong to have to get out of there pronto!

you don't want to be wasting your time on a loon like that!

hope this helps hun.
