i really like my boss...he has shown signs of someone who is interested. i've caught him giving me longing looks. Apparently, when I wasn't there and he was cashing up, my friend/colleague was on the phone to me and when my boss heard my name his face lit up. he was in a bad mood, then he heard my name and started to ask if i was coming to see them. he acted funny when I came into work with a guy that used to work there, and he reacted by kissing me on the cheek. The next day he was asking why i dont go out with this guy. there is another guy who works in a pub, and me and my colleagues were there. my boss found out i was interested in this guy and he started asking questions about the guy, and watched me when i went to the bar. he also seemed panic when I was holding flowers, especially when my friend lied and said i had a secret admirer. Im confused, and he has a girlfriend, but are these subtle signs, and what do they mean?

Your boss does, indeed, appear to have a little crush on you. But, since he IS your boss and currently attached, the best thing you can do is pretend he isn't making longing looks at you and just go about your job. As long as he doesn't do anything really forthrightly weird (like give you special treatment on the job etc.) there's nothing you can really do. As with all infatuations, his will probably die off in time and everything will go back to the way it was.

If he DOES do something awkward like make a pass at you, politely decline and explain that you don't think dating attached bosses is appropriate.

Things'll be fine, if not a bit weird for a few weeks.
