A male reader, dirtball United States +, writes (18 March 2011):

dirtball agony auntThe only thing you can do is confess your feelings. Tell him you've been thinking about him romantically and you were wondering if he ever considered dating you. Most guys have considered dating their female friends at some point, it's part of our nature.

Some rewards are worth the risk. You have to decide if the reward is worth it to you.

Even if it doesn't work out the way you want to, most good friends make it through a confession like this. I have confessed feelings to a friend, and got turned down, but we are still friends. I've had friends confess feelings for me, and I've turned them down, but we remained friends... Good friends won't hold it against you that you've developed stronger feelings for them.
