Can't you go to your doctor ?

You can get advice from places like a href="http://parentdiary.co.uk"parent diary.co.uk/a too, it may help.

natasia agony auntMaybe one of us could send it to you? I don't mind doing that, if it would help.

Or why not just buy one over the internet?? That would be anonymous and easy, don't you think? You'd need a card to pay with though.

I don't mind doing it and getting it sent to you. Let me know.

wonderingcat agony auntI just remembered another possible option: do you have a friend in a medical school, or a local university hospital? They may have labs there that have the appropriate reagents (as part of their research facilities/service). Your test will be probably anonymous, or your friend can conduct this simple test discreetly.

wonderingcat agony auntIf you have an expatriate as a friend, you can also ask him/her to get one from their embassy or from a Duty Free Shop in town. I've never been to Cairo, but perhaps some of the five star hotels may have those boutique style drug stores (usually they would also sell these kits, and even local staff there can be very discreet to locals/non expatriates). Otherwise, check online and see if you can order one that will be delivered to an address in Cairo (perhaps not yours) within a week.

What about the guy with whom you slept -- could you ask him to shop for a home test kit?

A female reader, Emilysanswers United Kingdom +, writes (15 April 2009):

I think you need help from someone else who you trust. Could you talk to a married friend, or do you trust your parents or an aunty or a cousin enough to tell them?

You need to get someone to get you that test, or you need to go to a doctor.

Are there no women's clinics near where you are?

I am from the UK so I don't know how your health care system works but I do understand the pressures you are under.

I think your best bet is getting a married or older woman to help you.

Good Luck!! xx
