writes: I have been having this huge problem that just wont go away. So I have been dating this guy for about 4 months now. And I can't say that things have been going great; they haven't. The problem is, I am really into my boyfriends brother. When I am with him I am so happy. I always look forward to seeing him and I feel like he makes me happier than my boyfriend does. I have the feeling that I need to brake up with my current boyfriend anyways. I am just so confused about this. And I am pretty sure his brother likes me too. What should I do? I need advice! sadly you should NOT date the brother... at least not for a while... that's just going to be too awkward for a bit.
in fact, if you want to date the brother of the soon to be ex... let the brothers work it out.

If things are not going at all well after 4 months, then you are right to break up with him regardless. This isn’t about his brother, it’s about you both and the fact that it’s not working between you. If you take things forward with his brother, so long as you’ve broken up with him first then you’re free to do that but you must be aware that there’s a strong possibility that it will deeply hurt your boyfriend and create division between him and his brother. If you don’t want to hurt him, then nothing can happen with the brother. His brother may not want to pursue you either for the same reason. Talk to the brother and find out what he wants if you think you might like to date him, but ask yourself whether you’re just looking at grass that seems greener on the other side or whether you really do have strong feelings for him. If nothing else, think about what attracts you to this man to help you identify what you want from some-one in the future.
