Hi, I agree with Emivia, your boyfriend was being a bit nasty and unkind.
You shouldn't be smelly there, however, if there is a foul odor that bothers you then you might indeed have an infection that should be seen to. It's time to visit the doctor and have a checkup. It's probably something minor, but if it is something more than that, waiting isn't going to help you get over it!
By the way, these things are very common in women, almost all of us go through this at one point or another, so there's nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about! It's annoying and a bother but nothing someone hasn't gone through before.
And please don't let your silly exboyfriend affect the way you feel about yourself. Tell him that I said he's being unkind and that he needs to grow up.
Ask your doctor how to prevent recurrences of this too, and how best to take care of your personal hygiene. Always wipe front to back, never back to front, as that introduces fecal bacteria into the vaginal area. Wash your hands always after using the toilet. Bathe using gentle soaps and do not use scrubbies or harsh bath cloths. Do not douche, as this is not recommended by doctors because it is associated with increased infection rates.
Best to see the doctor and make sure all is well!
Hope this helps and take care.

I am not a doctor but it sounds like you could have Bacterial Vaginosis. This is when there is a build up of bacteria in your vagina. It's like thursh, but is caused by bacteria instead of yeast. It is not an STI and occurs naturally if a balance between the good and bad bacteria is disrupted.
You may also have thrush.
You need to get it checked out as soon as possible. These kind of things are easily treated and you'll feel much better when you get this fixed.
I know it can be very hard going to a doctor for this kind of thing. But eventually we all have to get these tests done. There are not as bad as you might think. It'll be alright.
If you have any questions about the doctor or anything else then you can mail me and I'll help you out as much as possible. You can find a lihnk by clicking on my picture.
Good Luck. Emivia. x
