The not being able to move and seeing a strange man is a very common thing. Its called a waking dream. You cant move because you are really still asleep but are able to see and feel things. The man or anything else you may see is your dreams mixing with the real world because you are still asleep.

Also without trying to scare you there might be somebody living in your loft or attic, coz wen me and sis were children we lived in terrace houses so the lofts of all four houses were open (no walls dividing the lofts of the four houses) and there was perv who used to watch me and sis from the lofts while we were in the bath through gaps in the ceiling. I'm sure this is not the case but it's an idea. (creepy)

It has been proven that a really low frequency noise can make people feel scared and see ghosts.
There was a scientist who was working in a lab, and none of the assistants would work in there at night because it was "haunted" and people swore they had seen things, but he didn't believe in ghosts so he didn't care. He did feel a strange atmosphere in there and wondered what it was so he set up a little piece of wire in a clamp and noticed it was vibrating. So he went round turning things on and off to find the source of the noise and when he turned off the air con then he said he felt so so so much happier in there.
They discovered that this certain note makes the retina in your eye vibrate, so you will see a grey shape at the edge of your vision but when you turn round there will be nothing there. Your imagination will make it person shaped and you think you have seen a ghost.
So, my advice is to figure out, has there been any change in the heating / air conditioning in your house recently? Have you bought a new fridge that is under your room? Has your neighbour turned on their emergency generator? Work out when this bad feeling started and look at it scientifically.
There is nearly always a rational explanation.
Good Luck!! xx
