more thoughts on this...
remember that whatever changes you make have to be PERMANENT.... it's a lifestyle change...
so make your changes small and managable.
writing down everything you eat and drink is a good thing and it has helped me. I journal my daily activities and food intake and weight daily... I own a support site for folks who want to live healthy lifestyles and keep it there... support is very helpful... so I suggest checking out some of the more popular diet support sites
Fitday
SparkPeople
3 Fat Chicks (one of my favorites)
keeping records is important... we do forget from day to day and our memories can be selective...
if you make a deal with yourself that you can eat anything you want AFTER you write it down in a journal, you may find you eat differently or eat less... it's a pain to have to write everything down
Also, Genneen Roth writes books about emotional eating such as "feeding the hungry heart"
she has good stuff
Beck Diet Solution deals with cognitive behavior changes and that's also a good thing....

Mueseli/ smoothie in the morning. I watched this programme where this guy had no idea why he was so fat because he only ate oranges, but he ate fifty oranges per day! The amount of vegetables you were eating were probably too many OR you have no will power and didn't stick to it for at least 16 days

If you are binge eating, you have some sort of trigger that causes you to eat. Something makes you feel low and so you turn to food as a comfort? You have to deal with the reason you eat.
Starving yourself and fad diets are not the way to go. They just set you up for diet failure.
When I started out losing weight, I kept a very detailed diary of every morsel that went in my mouth. If I ate an almond, I recorded it. I used a smartphone app that tracked calories in and calories burned. I recorded all my physical exercise, walking the dog, doing housework or gardening, yoga, everything I did that wasn't sitting around the house. The app told me precisely how many calories I was going over or under my daily limit, which was set by me with consultation with my doctor. It also told me what percentage of the food I was eating counted as fat, or protein or carbohydrate.
I have stopped taking cream in my coffee or whole milk in my tea. I do not drink carbonated beverages, other than sparkling water, not even diet ones. I eat breakfast, generally something like granola (muesli) with nonfat milk or almond milk, some nuts and some fruit, or an egg white omelet with diced veggies, or a smoothie with nonfat yogurt, protein powder and frozen berries and some agave nectar as a sweetener. I DO NOT skip breakfast.
I try to keep my meals small, around 400 calories, and I try to include a veggie or fruit, a whole grain, a lean protein and a 'good fat' such as avocado, olive oil, nuts or other non-animal-based fat. I enjoy dark chocolate in small quantities. I eat breakfast, lunch, a snack and dinner.
I can tell you all this, but trying to follow my diet won't work for you, until you know WHY you overeat. What is the fear/sorrow/worry/anger/depression that you are feeding?
Figure that out and maybe you can start to win the weight battle.
Step one. Keep a diary of what you eat, when you eat it and how you are feeling when you eat. Be honest. You don't need to lie to yourself. Do this for 2 weeks.
Then step two can be discussed later.

I was morbidly obese. I tried diet after diet... I finally 2.5 years ago had gastric bypass... now I still struggle... I have to watch what I eat and exericse but it's much easier now....
if you binge eat the first thing you need to do is address why you are binge eating...
I was a size 26/28 and now I'm a 4/6/8
if you would not want to consider something like surgery (and I know it's a bit hard to get insurance to cover it) then I would suggest something that balances good foods with exercise.
i did somewhat well on South Beach Diet losing over 80 pounds... the problem is that with stress i went back to binge eating....
i had not adressed that.
I still struggle with it... but I'm learning.
i have a social worker who helps me figure out how to cope. she specializes in bariatric patients...
so in summary
eat whole grains
eat many veggies
eat some fruit
eat lean protein.. (my favorite snack when dieiting is a hard boiled egg)
drink LOTS of WATER or calorie free drinks (NOT DIET SODA)
get some exercise every day (a walk is fine walk for 10 minutes 3 or more times a day) also look into yoga....
