 I don't think she's "the one" if you're too shy to ask her out. You don't know that kind of thing until you've been with someone for a relatively long time, are appreciative of his/her aspirations ad life goals, can fully accept his/her quirks and past transgressions, and feel completely content being around the person.
You aren't even dating this girl, so I highly doubt that you've satisfied those keys to a long-term relationship.
Why do your friends hate this girl? Can you give us more information there? Is it her personality or something else?

I doubt your even ready for a relationship. When u can decide for yourself u like a female and want to explore things with her regardless of how little ur friends like her is the day you'll be mature enough for a relationship. For now enjoy everything else. Take care
