Cuz she's tired of me complaining about them. My only fear though is that they're going to check me and i kind of have an issue with people seeing those spots. I know most people will say "Oh, doctor's see stuff like that everyday," but that doesn't make me feel better. I need to know what will calm my nerves down if i have to do something like this. Thanks for any advice!:)

Ok I will let you into a secret...I hate dentists, oh do I hate dentists, I had a really bad time with a dentist as a child (I will spare you the gory details but needless to say it involved me screaming the clinic down). So, I have avoided dentists for the past 20-odd years but then I bumped into a school pal who now has awful teeth for a 30-something...it drove me back to that dentist chair and now I am getting treatment. I was sat in the dentist chair last week thinking 'what is all the fuss about?' and laughing at how irrational I have been in the past. That is how you will feel when you leave the doctors surgery. I don't think a doctor will do an internal examination on a girl of your age and blood tests will be the first type of test. The doctor may recommend an ultrasound to take a picture of your insides to see if there is anything irregular that may explain your bleeding. Try not to worry, doctors know intimate examinations are stressful for patients. You can just look at the wall and think about something nice - sitting on a beach, your favourite music etc. Practise these techniques before you go. But remember it is very important to be checked out and as a young lady you are going to have to prepare yourself for personal checks in later life...babies, cervical smears etc.

relax your breathing and picture a relaxing activity that you do regularly. focus on the visual details of the task and slow down and apreciate the calmness. stay here until you are finished.
this works for phobias of needle's and other things where you are still and can put the mind state on like a glove.

i dont think that he will have to examine you for this!! so just calm down and take deep breaths. put this to the back of your mind as its very unlikely!! if he does have to examine you then just keep your breathing deep and slow! it will really calm you down and it will be over in a matter of minutes! think of it this way, you'll be getting your problems solved! and what are you going to do if you have kids? they have to examine you then! so just try to relax and they really have saw it all before!! theyre not going to be unproffessional about it.x

Nobody likes a stranger staring up their wazoo but it's a necessary evil. You'll get somewhat used to it as you have more and more of these checkup but it is never high on the "fun things to do" list. Sometimes it's hard to be a woman.....
