I like her and she seems to like me but I've been a bit hesitant so go too far with it because I'm not sure how my my friend (her older sister) would react. Another part of the issue is that the main group of people I hang out with includes the both of them. So quite often when I am with the girl whom I like, her sister is there too.I'm just not really sure how my friend would react to the whole thing. I guess the logical thing to do would be to discuss it with her.I am curious at to whether or not the whole being protective of the little sister thing generally applies only to guys who have a sister or if girls would be equally protective of their little sister in general. I think your friend would prefer a great guy like yourself, who she knows (and that she can keep an eye on!) to be going out with her little sister rather than someone anonymous. I would just ask the girl out and tell your friend if she agrees, rather than making a big issue of it.

I agree, discuss it with your friend first so there are no shocking surprises. But then discuss it with the gal you like immediately afterwards.
All in all, if this person was truly your friend then she would wish you all the best.
