A female United Kingdom age 36-40, *eordiegirl22 writes:

I have been friends with a lad that I work with for nearly 3 years. Summer last year I told him I fancied him, well I didn't tell him big mouthed colleagues did, but anyways he found out, and he decided he was flattered but didn't want to take it further because we work together and he didnt want people talking about his buisness.

We both decided to remain friends, granted were not as flirty as we used to be so no one wud get the wrong idea.

I was in a relationship for 6 months that ended really badly to the point that i dont want anything to do with lads for a bit not unless i no i can trust them.

He has been in a relationship for 9 months now, and all of a sudden emailed me yesterday telling me he's happy with his girlfriend, but he wished he hadnt turned me down, he told me he had wrote so many texts saying that he really liked me and wanted to give us a chance but had deleted them cause he didnt want me thinking he was another bloke messing me about.

He has said if hes ever single again and im single at the time, he wants us to go out for a drink and talk, but thinks i wont stay single for long cause i never do.

i said come on when will u ever be single again, it'll never happen, you are happy now.

and he said i am really happy but never say never u dont know what could happen.

Is he trying to tell me things arent really that blissfull with him and this girl? and theres a chance he will split up with her and want me?

he is the perfect lad, he's caring, loving, protective of his friends, TRUSTWORTHY, everything about him i like, even his irratating points and believe me working with him for so long, i know them! granted hes not the best looking lad, but his funniness makes up for it, and i see the beauty on the inside. And a major plus i think he would be the only person my family wud ever approve of.

he would never cheat on his girlfriend, and i dont think he would leave her for me.

am i reading too much into this? did he do this just to cheer me up, cause i split up with my ex not long ago, or am i just getting my hopes up over nothin?

a mutal friend has said maybe he has already split up with her, and he doesnt want me thinkin that hes only coming to me cause hes lonely.

i dont no what to think, please help

BEEN THERE DONE IT agony auntHi hun,

Of course your confussed so would I be,

I think the best thing you can do is let him know your very flattered and of course you would be happy to go for that drink if and when there is a time your both single, then leave it at that...

I know its hard babes but if he really wants to know you it is human nature for the man to persue a woman so let him pursue you...

Let him see your still happy be polite etc...I bet ya bottom dollar he will eventually contact you.....and if he doesn't well he wasn't worth it was he????

I hope this has helped you babes,

Be strong let me know how you get on

Love Donna xx
