The only way that I would tell you to tell them to go screw themselves is if you plan to retire and not seek employment again. You might very well need a good recommendation from your current employer to get your next job. Burning bridges like this does not normally turn out to be the best decision.

I can't see why you should have to show anyone else the ropes. However, I would be 100% honest when you apply for a new job on why you left the old one. And you might want to seek legal advice as well.
That would not sit well with me either having to deal with crap like that.

All I know is a future employer is going to ask you what you've been doing for 8 years and if you get a bad recommendation from this company it will be tough getting another position. I know you are pissed off but you need to think about what's in YOUR best interest. Besides your best revenge will be getting another and BETTER job than those idiots you are leaving behind.

You are going to need this recommendation. Future employers will want to know what you've been doing for the last 8 years. And if this company can say you were a valuable employee all the better. Try to leave on a good note.

Legally, you can probably just quit. They might dock some of your final pay, but that'd probably be all.See advice from your local Citizen's Advice Bureau or your solicitor. You may even have a case against your employer for any bullying you experienced.
