hlskitten agony auntAnother thing i forgot to say is have a sin day, once a week, where anything goes. No calorie counting. It keeps the metabolism on its toes & one day a week of looooooads of calories isnt enough to make you put on weight.

Its a good tip thats worked for a lot of people i know.(as long as you stay within your calorie amount 6 of the other days)

Midge agony auntI have to say that I am on diet at the moment and find that just by cutting out certain things, I have lost over an inch in my waist in a week.

Dont count how much you are loosing by weight, but by inches you are loosing. Sometimes you may loose inches but not really much in weight.

All I do is completely cut out ALL alcohol and fizzy drinks. Drink LOADS of water, and eat steamed veg or salad. I have a slice of bread or a roll with my lunch and a roll with my dinner. You are still getting a certain amount of carbs but not too much.

My biggest problem is that I love my carbs which is not good in large doses. Also I have a sleeping disorder so dont sleep very well at all, so always had a drink before I went to my bed to make sure that I was tired and would sleep. Although my sleep didnt get any better, but I was at my wits end and I would have tried anything to get some sleep.

So cut out carbs and sugar (alcohol has SOOOO much sugar in it). Eat loads of veg and salad.

Also, an integral part of dieting is getting exercise. I have a new puppy so take her on walks each night and in the morning if I get a chance. I have also been training her to go on the treadmill with me, so that has been quite a giggle. She strangely enough really likes the treadmill!

hlskitten agony auntVeg, veg, and more veg. Salad is good. Rice cakes for snacks. I lost half a stone just by keeping a diary on the pc of what i ate everyday & how many calories. For my height a safe amount were 1200 calories a day. But it all depends on your height, weight now etc. Try the site sparkpeople dot com its COMEPLETELY free to join, has loads of tips & has forums you can post questions on or read other peoples questions. And it will work out a plan designed for you individually about how many calories a day would be good. I cant do diets, theres no way. But the calorie counting is great. You still get to eat what you want as long as you dont go over your daily calories.

Oh carbs arent the best thing for losing weight either apparently. Although i was hooked on pasta tuna and tinned tomatoes while i was calorie counting and still lost the half a stone!

Give that site a look.

Yeah. Do a detox diet. You'll drop the pounds really fast and you'll cleanse your entire body at the same time. Look it up on google. There are different ones you can do. I did a three day detox. It felt sooo good. It cleared all my congestion. And I lost three pounds.

If not, just in terms of food, just eat whole grains, lots of vegetables, fish, lean chicken, nuts, soy products and fruit. And stay away from sugary or fatty stuff. Try to keep it at that. And eat till satisfied but don't get full.

And do some exercise. run. or walk. three times a week. and do some sit ups.
