A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I am a 19 year old girl and I have a problem with my family. I live at home with my parents and younger sister but I don't really get on with them. We all work but when we get home, we don't spend much family time together. It is just like living separate lives under the same roof. Also, I don't feel like I can talk to them when problems arise. For instance, when I wanted to discuss my future plans for when I finish my studies, they just told me to find my interests and find methods to fulfil them. Thing is, I didn't know what I was interested in and so I needed guidance but I didn't get any! My younger sister is not much good either as she is always with her boyfriend. I feel isolated and often turn to my friends for support and company. I think they are wrong but don't know how to tell them so. What shall i do? Please help.

Laura1318 agony auntDo your school or college have any counselors? Most of them have and they can provide you with the right advice.

Your family may not be able to help you . It is not that they don't want to help you.

Maybe , you could share and give more details here.
