I'd suggest working out if you really want to. It'll give you more muscle weight and make you look more adult-ish, while maintaining your fat content. Just remember to eat a healthy diet and enough calories to make sure you aren't becoming undernourished.

You are still a teenager! Your mom's weight is considered obese and not healthy so it's not something you should aspire to.

Protip from an ex model-
Milk.
I'm not kidding. It's a super easy bodybuilder's secret. It's cheap and it's full of proteins, fats and vitamins that your body needs in order to put on weight.
Drink a glass with every meal. You should put on about a half-pound to a pound a week if you stick with it consistently.

I would check your BMI as long as your in a healthy range it's nothing to worry about, but if your unhappy in yourself and want to gain weight eat lots of carbs and healthy filling foodsLook to all the positives, were all made in different shapes and sizes so try to embrace your good points, look in the mirror and say how beautiful you are - imagine it's not you, and point out all the good things! It took me a long time to embrace my height, I'm just a tad under 6 feet and curvy - I hated that when I was your age, now I embrace it and wear heals, and make the most of what I have. You can do it too!!! My best friend is about the same weight as you a tad taller, and I'm jealous of her tiny figure! I bet lots of ladies are jealous of you too, you just don't realise it!!So look in that mirror and see all the positives!

You have a complex. You're only 5 ft tall, so the fact that you're 100 pounds does not make you skinny. You're at a normal and healthy range. Just because YOU think you're skinny doesn't make it so.
You cannot compare yourself to your mother as you're only 19 years old! Your body will change and probably get heavier once you reach her age. Also keep in mind that your mother is 2 inches taller than you, which immediately makes the person heavier.
Don't compare yourself to your mother, or listen what people tell you. Just know that your weight for your height is perfectly NORMAL and HEALTHY. If you gain more weight, you'll be in fact less healthy.

Definitely stick with carbs but make sure to eat healthy and still try to stay away from fatty foods. You won't get any taller but gaining weight is possible. I recommend working out if you have time but stay away from cardio. Try weight training to put on some muscle mass. That way you will gain weight in the right places and stay healthy.
You will most likely always be on the smaller side which is fine but you do want to make sure you have the strength to carry the child and so on.

the best thing to do is eat all day and eat high quality high calorie food..
full fat dairy (cheese is good)
nuts
avocados (gawd i love them)
eat at least 6 times a day
and know that in some cultures 5'2" and 156 pounds is considered fat.... I'm 5'2" and about 145 and the charts say I'm overweight..
