Smile at her, for a start. Smile in a friendly way any time you can catch her eye.
Make eye contact for a few seconds longer than you need to. Don't stare at her like she has two heads, obviously, but return her gaze just a second or two longer than you need to, then smile and look away. (This works better if you have a friend there, to turn and talk to.) It'll make her think about you, I promise.
Try to exude confidence (not cockiness -- big difference!). Convince yourself that you're going to be fun to be with, and she'll pick up on it too.
Finally, try not to worry. As hard as it is for you to muster the courage to ask someone out, remember that girls have to battle their own demons, too. Every girl is convinced that she's homely at best and probably unattractive. Most girls only see their own flaws and think that they're never going to be as pretty, successful or popular as their age mates. So, chances are, most girls will be thrilled to be asked out.
Get going!

Is she already a friend?Try just talking to her. Flirt wit hher if you can. Get t oknow her a bit better. You might feel more comfortable asking her out if you do this first. Or she might ask you!
