This might sound like a very stupid question but I'm actually stuck.

I went shopping today for a bikini (I'm a happy size 14) but when I tried the bottoms on they were slightly tight, are bikini's meant to be like this or is it when they get wet they shrink or expand (can't remember which one).

I've lost 2 stone in weight and I feel about 70% confident to wear one but I just nede help slightly - I only seem to get odd looks from the shop assistants when I ask for a larger size.

Please help I don't want to look stupid on the beach

lexilou agony auntI too lost 2 stone before my holiday so well done. The bottoms go a bit saggy when you get out of the water but dont shrink. Dont feel embarrased asking for a bigger size its about what you are comfy with. Freya do great bikinis in mix and match sizes, Im in between a 12 and 14 bottom and bought the large which are a bit bigger on the bum than I like but I didnt have time to reorder the mediums, they looked okay though and I wasnt worried about how I looked. Also a lot of their bikini tops have plenty of support but still look young and trendy. You can order from the internet and try different sizes in the comfort of your own home x

eyeswideopen agony auntSome stores sell the tops and bottoms separately. That way if you need to you can customize your bikini ie. large top medium bottom or visa versa.
