What kinds of brands are good concealers for me to buy that won't break my budget? Is concealer the same as powder or liquid foundation? help me!

A female reader, Cateyes United States +, writes (23 July 2007):

Cateyes agony auntIf you do wear the green concealer, be sure to place at least a small amount of "regular" concealer on aftewards that matches your skin tone. You could try it alone then put on your foundation, but there is a possibility that it will show. Just depends how much you put on to. I don't buy the colored one's anymore, but I do buy one from Mary Kay that I love. It's in a tube that you squeeze out. I love it for under my eyes and it works great. Cost on this one is about $15.00 a tube. Concealer is not the same as powder or foundation. Concealer is just used to cover up flaws or imperfections on the skin. You then would use foundation over it on anywhere else on your face. They do make some powders that you can use as a powder/foundation all in one. Those are pretty great. Personally, I like Cover Girl powder/foundation in a black square with a mirrow and I like Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse foundation. Both are great and you can use the powder over the mousse, but just a small amount for a clear matte finish. That is what I like to wear and it does not cause me to break out.

Hope this helps you out....happy hunting for makeup!!
