writes:I need opinions on Inter-racial dating. I am a mexican/white girl. I have been goin out with man of black skin for the past month. I really think he is cool. However, the people in town do not always apporove. Also my mexican friend revolts and thinks that i should go out with a person that is mexican or white.I dont know if i should break up with him because of everything and try to find someone new.  My wife is hispanic, I'm white. Where she comes from, the people are of Indian/African/Spanish blood. Nobody really cares about color, hair, eyes etc. People who worry about the ethnic background of someone else's partner are bigots. Don't buy into that.

 Love transcends all! So whether or not you want to date within your specific nationality or outside of it, love is what matters. Your friends, however shallow will begin to see what you see in your man once they really get to know him - and if they don't, you might want to consider surrounding yourself with like-minded people. People who understand as you do that it doesn't matter the color of your skin but how he treats you, how he loves, how he respects you.

 Hon, when you speak or think of another person you should never think of him or her as being "another race."
If I were to try to think of some of my friends from other ethnic groups I would have trouble because nationality has no bearing with me.
To me we all come from the same race. The human race. I am caucasian but were I to go out and get a dark tan tomorrow would that change who I am? Of course not!
So don't ever let race effect your decision about who to or not to love or what others may think. Doc
