As you say it's a new job, he's gonna feel a little nervous. Anything you get him will be great cause he'll know your standing right beside him. As all the post imply get him something special for work that will make him feel like a millonaire. Congratulations.

Something nice to put his lunch in. A travel coffee mug. Something he can use and think of you while he's using it.

A really good pen (find out if he likes the ball-point or fountain tips), a nice attache case or briefcase, a great shaving kit, a no-iron shirt with a matching tie, a leather folio that holds a note pad, a good watch, there are some ideas. The best thing is to be thoughtful about it. Just think about what his job will entail and try to anticipate a need he might have, it doesn't have to be hugely expensive, just something that shows you've been thinking about him. Something that will make him look good in front of customers or his coworkers is always appreciated.
Congrats to your boyfriend and I hope he knows what a thoughtful girlfriend he has!
