Say something absurd like "So whats your deal?" with a nice flirty smile on your face. He will honestly have no idea how to answer and it will keep him talking to you. I mean hell put your hand on his lap while you ask him. I promise he wont get offended and that will certainly get the picture across. Guys are simple creatures so be blunt about it.
