 maybe because you've moved on and living with your current boyfriend have a child together you always thought that would be you and your ex and ponder as to why it didn't get that far.
alot of people think back on there exes like why didn't we last?
why didn't this happen?
how come we didn't get this far?
you're probably just remenising about what you guys could of had.
try not to worry i mean you probably still obviously care for him and maybe wished you guys went that far and hoped you'd last forever.
but then things happen :)
it's just the way of life.
