 of course your dad would be more improtant to you than any boy however think of it like this, what dad do you know that actually liked their daugthers boyfriends?? Not very many, its just a dad thing, being over protective incase his daugther gets hurt. If you love your boyfriend, you cant really do much about it. Tell your dad about how much you love him and in time when he really gets to know your boyfriend better, he will see that the both of you are in love and will respect that

 Hey,
dad's never stop loving their daughters. It's a fact. He probably has trouble accepting that his little girl is all grown up and having boyfriends andstuff. Give him time, he'll come around. I disagree with what Helpful girl said. It never does any good to keep things like this a secret, imagine how your dad will have felt if he found out another way? Like from someone else, or he walked in on you two one day. It's good that he knows, give him time.
