 It kinda makes sense to me that if he loved you and missed you he would willingly make it a prioroty to make time for you.
If you think however that you need to open his eyes to what he is missing out on, then by all means try it, ... but obviously you have to be strong and focus on what you hope to achieve in order to refrain yourself from being too available.
You can do it, you just have to force your mind to over rule your emotions.
