Well i dont think it matters how straight you look, its more about how gay you act.
I realise you have children, and its a tough to act full on. Maybe you just need to be a little more confident when you are at a gay bar, and just go for it, find a pretty/sexy/beautiful woman, and talk to her, chat her up, heck if you absolutely have to... just go in for the kill and kiss her.
That way no one can question your sexuality, just remember one thing for me (pretty please) its not important what others think of you, if what you think of yourself that counts.
Dont worry about them laughing you off, and dont worry about your gaydar, these days its hard to tell who is and who isnt, but rest assured that if they are in a gay bar, they most probably are.
If you need me to clear up anything i have said feel free to message me, or add a reply to my answer and i'll get back to you asap.
Good luck, and remember, you are who you are.
