During that time span, I had one of my cousin's cousins (the son of the sister of my uncle-by-marriage) pay a little more than friendly attention to me. I liked him, he was suave, handsome et al. and flirted back. We exchanged phone numbers and added each other on FB. But this seemingly caused chagrin to my aunt, who told me that the guy was previously caught up in a molestation case a while ago. Now, I'd already known of it, and the fact that he was framed by a jilted woman. I told that to my aunt, but she won't hear any of it, even stating that "who knows what is the truth". Also that the case was still hanging in court. My mom agrees, telling me not to have any contact with him. Now I'm feeling disheartened, since I did like the guy. What do I do? Ignore him?

your mother and aunt are right.. you don't know the facts of the case...
and if he's found guilty what will happen?
I'd tread very carefully... especially if HE told you he was framed by a jilted woman.

Well that is a difficult call. I suggest you find out more and wait for the COURT CASE to be over. Better to be sure then sorry. Best LUCK .Nora B.
