writes: My boyfriend likes to drink sometimes with friends and at parties. Never excessively. He never gets drunk where he doesn't remember things. I don't mind drinking, but I don't like when he drinks without me. What should I do? Should I be okay with his habits or ask him to hold off a bit until I'm ready?

reader, anonymous, writes (13 August 2006): Sorry to say but in my opinion there's not really a whole lot you can do about it... actually i think it's kinda selfish of you to not want him to drink without you.
