I like him but I get the sense he can't be bothered. Do I forget him?

A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I've started talking to a guy lately, we have known each other for three years through friends but we have never really talked properly.

He texted me a lot for a few days but then started to lose interest, I texted him but I could tell he couldn't be bothered so I wasn't going to waste my time.

However, I really like him in the sense that I think we could be really good friends. He was really flirty but thats not my intention. He talks to me in school and such, gives me hugs and acts normal but I hardly see him. However I do get the sense as if he can't be bothered.

Should I just give up?

UnfinishedSymphony agony auntPersonally...

I'd give up. Hes either just not interested in starting anything not necessarily just with you, but anyone in general. When you start getting that feeling a guy isn't into you, most of the time you're right in some respect. If he felt the same about the whole thing as you do, he would of took the next step forward by asking you out for a drink, texting you often with compliments ect ect. Whatever you do trust your instinct. We all come across this...man or woman

Good luck babe
