However, I don't know whether to gather confidence to ask her out now, even though I will not be able to see her until after exams and even summer, perhaps about 3 months.Shall I take the plunge and ask her out sooner while I still have strong feelings for her, or should I wait until after summer when it could be more realistic?I just don't know what to do! please help.

I would wait til you have more time. Then, if the feelings are still there, you'll know you shold go for it. It's not really a good idea to start a new relationship when you're already swamped, and then expect to last as a long distance.
Give it time :)
