 From a males point of perspective there is no particular speed or motion. All of the above.
A bit of variety helps tons to change the sensations, it really depends on what HE likes and play around that.
Getting him going then slowing him down again is a great way to keep him always on the edge, so try everything and see what floats his boat!!
