writes: Hi there,,I met a girl online a good couple years ago and we got on quite well, problem is, I lied about a lot - Including my age. I'm 18 now but according to my alter ego I should be 20. Now usually this wouldn't be a problem but after a while of not speaking due to a hacked email she's found and added me on facebook. I don't know whether to add her and chat to her as if nothing had been false or if I should ignore her as if I was never the person she had talked to in the first place. I know the option to tell her the truth is there but even though it's online and I live in Scotland compared to her in the South of England I still don't like that confrontation and spilling the beans!Any advice or help would be VERY much appreciated as i'm not sure what to do! Thanks

ScottishAndProud is verified as being by the original poster of the questionReally I only lied about my age, I exaggerated a few things or made myself look 'cooler' if you want to put it that way but really I was what I am in real life.

if you only lied about your age then that is not REALLY a problem, lots of young people like to make themselves appear older if they are trying to attract attention from the opposite sex. but you lied about other stuff too? does she know the real you at all? if the lies you told will cause you too much embarrassment when she discovers the truth then i can see why you would not want to add her, but if you don't she might be really upset and wonder what she did wrong. why not just come clean and then she has the choice whether to accept you for true self or she may decide she doesn't want to coz you lied

You should've been honest to begin with. But you've made your bed, now you have to lay in it. Just come clean. The longer the lie goes on, the more she'll be hurt. Especially if you two grow to be a lot closer in the future.

Hey. Ok, ive also meet people online and of course i lied about my age and other stuff but when i told that person, she didnt care or mind. About 90% of people online lie about something. Everybody does it, no biggie. Don't worry about it, im sure she won't mind dude...! Good luck!....peace!
