A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Me and my boyfriend have been together for 8 months now. I have lied to him twice out of those eight months. He told me he didnt love me, trust me , or even care about me anymore. He told me i needed to prove to him that i love him, care for him, and that im never going to hurt him ever again. How can i prove that to him?

A male reader, CaringGuy United Kingdom +, writes (6 July 2010):

Ask him. Only he knows how you can prove it. Though, in all honesty, I'm not sure you should. I get that you've lied (which is bad), but he's come out and suddenly sad he doesn't love you, trust you or care about you. Yet he's wanting you to effectively beg to come back to him? If he cared that much,, he would work through this. If he hated you that much, he'd just end it. You need to be careful that you're not just being used and end up being made a fool of. Maybe you should just end it and find someone you won't lie to.
