Me and my ex just broke up after a year and a half of him lying, cheating, mentally and physically abusing. We still talk on the phone a little and I want to go back with him so bad. But I know I can't. What is the best way for me to let him go and still be able to talk to him?

A female reader, anonymous, writes (22 March 2006):

You want to get back with this guy because you are use to his emotional abuse. However, you need to step back and look at things objectively. You broke up for a reason. Stay strong. You CAN and WILL find someone who makes you feel special instead of shitty.

you are finding it hard to let go off someone that had not only a big part of your life but a big part of you for a long time sometimes breaking all contact and ties with that person can help you to move on with your life when your with someone a long time you get into the habit of being with that person therefore being without them can be hard getting use to things as one instead of two, you know what is right its just putting it into practice.

Don't let the relationship be anything but a conversation on the phone. And, Keep those conversations away from your personal life.
