This probably doesnt sound like much of a problem but it is for me.

Every couple of months I will have a week of constantly getting Deja Vu. Today I had it 3 times in a 2 hour lecture. I will look up and its like ive seen that exact image before, like in a dream, and then i imagine images and people saying things that went with the vision, its like ive dreamt it but it seems so real.

But the problem is when this happens, I feel so physically sick, light headed, and dizzy its horrible. This feeling will last about 5minutes and then I go back to normal .

However, a couple of days ago i had deja vu and felt really sick and spaced out whilst walking home. The next thing I know, Im standing outside a house not having a clue where i was or what i was doing or how i got there. Its like i blinked and am suddenly in a different place (i still dont remember walking there) and my memory was wiped. It completely freaked me out, I had to phone my mate who was the last thing/person i remembered seeing (as i had said goodbye to them before walking home) to ask them where I was and what I was doing - i didnt even know what city i was in. Then after they told me i was walking home, it took me about a minute to realise i was standing outside my house and to remember what i was doing. it completely freaked me out

what is this? am i going mad?

i don't think you're going mad in any way at all. i also get alot of deja vu. at least twice weekly, if not more and it freaks me out. it's hard to explain what it feels like. all i know is that the things i feel are things that hav not happened to me. does that make sense? it feels like certain things are mapped out for me and having this deja vu is maybe a funny way of letting me know.

it stops me in my tracks bcoz the feelings i get are so vivid. am like a stunned rabbit for a few minutes. i think maybe you should look at it in a positive sense. that you are having this for a reason, even if you don't know what that reason is yet. xx

I have a boyfriend who has the exactly the same problem. He has not yet found out what has caused this but i would strongly advise that you go to the doctors. This could be anything. Stress or something more serious, blackouts and lack of memory can be related to epilepsy or something similar. Good luck, dont leave it till its too late

birdynumnums agony auntYou really need to get a physical from your Doctor. If you haven't seen one lately, there are a number of different things it could be be - so you are not going mad! It could be hypo-glycemia, which means that your food intake affects your blood sugar levels and you feel a little light-headed at times throughout the day (but only if you don't eat - something University students do all the time - on top of partying). You could also have a deficiency in certain vitamen intakes, low iron counts or any number of things! It's easy to take care of once you get the examinations and tests done. Don't worry, I'm sure it's nothing serious. University students are hard working, underpaid, stressed and usually malnourished (did I mention partying?). You are also in an environment that is constantly exposing you to a thousand bacteria, but you would know if you had a virus, because you would have a fever as well. A Word to the Wise - Do NOT go to the clinic on campus. They are great in emergencies. Go to the trouble of getting a doctor off campus that you can call, as your OWN Doctor, throughout your years at school. An off-campus GP can often get things done faster for you. Take Good Care of Yourself! Good Luck!
