I had sex with my boyfriend and the condom split...its way too late for emergency contraception now and we both tried our hardest top get some but we were refused and the doctors had no free appointments. We always use condoms but this time it split. It happened on the 29th and i came on my period two days later, but it was different and alot shorter and heavier. I keep getting waves of sickness and dizziness, could this mean i am pregnant?

willywombat agony auntYes you could be pregnant simply because sperm entered your vagina. You will not know if you are until you take a pregnancy test though. So go and do it asap.

CarrieMagdelene agony auntHey, writer! Remember that a woman who is pregant does not usually feel morning sickness until 6 to 8 weeks after conception. But it is important that you get a pregnancy test RIGHT AWAY. Go to another town to remain anonymous if you must, but it's very important. In Babytalk magazine, a woman went into labor without even knowing she was pregnant--she had her periods all throught the pregnancy with no complications. It's important to take the test now. Enjoy life!

Reebe agony auntYou need to take a pregnancy test and find out for sure, get one that indicates early whether you are pregnant or not.

It could be that you've picked up a stomach bug, having a period doesn't mean yout not pregnant so i wouldn't think that. Whatever the results make an appointment with your GP just to get everything checked out.

Good Luck

A female reader, Lilly223 United States +, writes (8 January 2007):

Lilly223 agony auntThe only way you can be sure is to get a pregnancy test and take it. They offer many very good tests over the counter. Waves of dizzyness, and nausea often indicate pregnancy. I would be surprised if you were pregnant simply because you have had a period... but it can happen. Be on the safe side, get a pregnancy test and take it...if it comes up negative wait a few weeks and try again, particularly if you don't get your next expected period. Regardless, if the nausea and dizziness do not go away in the next week or so, you should see your GP, just to check for any underlying problems.
