writes: Hi, I have this friend of 2 years, earlier this year I started to have feelings for her, a couple of months ago I let her know these feelings, unfortunately she does not feel the same. She was very to the point in the way that she sort of had a go at me for letting her know, she seemed quite angry and shouted we will never be more than friends.Since then we are still very good mates and she said that it bothered her that I felt that way at the time but it does not bother her now. We get on really well and can talk for ages, and when we go our seperate ways I usually get a kiss on lips and big hug. She has said she cares for me, I just wish she would take it to the next level. The reality is that she will never change her mind. Don't keep hoping or you'll lose her as a friend. Start looking elsewhere for romance.

reader, anonymous, writes (6 September 2007): you need to respect your friends feelings, if she doesnt care for you in that way you need to show her that you are ok about it, she will respect you even more for doing this. Let her know that you are their for you if you need her and maybe feelings will develop over time.
