It's good to accept who you are, and know you are beautiful inside and out no matter what, however you have to face the facts too.
You have to be happy with your own self image, because people have different opinions. Some might think you are fat, normal, or skinny. Accept your weight and be happy about it, or do something to get to a point where you are satisfied.

The model got fired because she was not what they were looking for. For some jobs, size 8 is too big to fit that particular image they're trying to create, while in some roles it's too thin. But in all cases, a model is picked ENTIRELY for how she looks and how she adheres to some ridiculous fantasy that marketing executives have for what kind of body they think people want to see.
You are a REAL person, and a perfectly normal size. Don't ever think you need to look like a model, because you CAN'T! They're all Photoshop and special effects anyway, and most are anorexic. If anything, you're already on the thin side.
I want you to watch this video from Dove and see just how fake these models are in the first place:

Say what's the difference between Birtish size 8 and US size 8? I think I wors a size 8 when I WAS 8!

No your not fat...ok? Size 8 isn't fat and if you believe everything you read in magazines your going to be pretty neurotic and shallow by the time you grow up.
Everybody knows supermodels starve themselves, live on cigarettes and coffee and promote an unrealistic lifestyle. Fashion and beauty advertising is heavily manipulated to make it appear better.
For example mascara adverts always show models wearing fake eyelash inserts (not something you buy with your average mascara) Shampoo and hair coloring adverts always show models who have had their hair maticulously styled by top hair stylists (don't know about you but when i was or colour my hair, it never turns out like on the ad's because I don't have a west end stylist in my closet :-))
There are also countless stories of models who border on anorexia or bullimia to try to stay thin. It's not healthy and it could kill you!!
The average size in the uk is 12-14 so in effect your smaller...so quit worrying.
