I agree with both answers. May I add, ask yourself if those feelings are new or you had them all your life; if you had all your life you have a serious problem and you have to consult a specialist. You have to get help because if your boyfriend can take it now, he won't later, and I talk out of experience as my husband is depressed most of the time and snaps, I stayed and kept telling myslf he can't help it but now I can't take it anymore and I feel sick myself, I feel like I am getting a heart attack from the ups and down in my life. Hopefully you can get help soon. take care

If i were you i`d get yourself off to your doctor for a chat and see if he or she can help make things better. Please do it and ask for some counselling too. It will help with the things on your mind. Big hug x

I think it would help if you had someone to talk to.
If you're feeling sad for no reason then you could be depressed. It would be a good idea to get this checked out.
You say that you sometimes have bouts of crying for no reason... are you sure there's no reason?
Can you think of anything in your life that might have brought this depression on? Tell us more, what's going on in your life right now? Your boyfriend seems kind and supportive, but are things going well in your relationship? How is your relationship with your family? Is something wrong at home, or at school?
Another possibility is Seasonal Affective Disorder. Do you tend to get depressed during the Fall and Winter months? Of course, we can't diagnose you, but when I read your post, it crossed my mind that there is a possibility that you may be suffering from Seasonal Affective Disorder.
You might want to get a checkup because depression may have a physiological cause. I'm sure that is can be easily treated, if this is the case. I'm not saying that it is, but it couldn't hurt to get this checked out so that you can feel better.
You may write us anytime you want to talk... but I think that talking to a therapist could really help you. I hope this helps...
