reader, anonymous, writes (29 July 2008): Well I just think that is a weird way to ask you, kind of putting you on the spot, so perhaps you just feel uncomfortable at the way he is approaching this, and that's why you don't feel comfortable expressing yourself. I know I would. Has he even told you how he feels about you? Cause if he hasn't then I would wait for him to express himself first, before pouring my heart out.
In any case, if you like this guy, just keep it real casual and tell him that sure, you like him. That's all. You don't have to say anything more.

You can try writing out what you feel, step away, then come back and start breaking it down into something simple. (that's if you have the time for that of course)
Just be honest, say what comes to mind and heart. If you like him, tell him that, and tell him why you do. Is it what you do together? His personality? His clothes? You like how he looks/smells/dresses/treats others?
Alternately, if you aren't very fond of him, don't leave him hanging, tell him why you feel the way you do.
