The virus always lays dormint in your skin for the rest of your live. Even though your body has built up an ammunity to the virus which makes it so that you won't have break outs any more you can still pass it on. I recommend doing lots of research on the internet.

There is a new vaccine that helps protect girls against contracting some of the viruses that cause genital warts. I don't know if your girlfried is the right age to take it, but it is worth exploring.
You must be sure to disclose the fact that you've had genital warts to your new girlfriend so she can protect her own health. It would be highly irresponsible on your part not to do this as the virus that causes genital warts is linked to cervical cancer. You do not want to have that on your conscience, knowing that you might have infected her...

One word... yes. However, there are some meds that can lessen the possibility of passing it on. But still...yes. Sorry.
