A female reader, anonymous, writes (18 October 2007):

You need to take a test to know for sure if you are or not.

Once you have the results, you can go from that and if it is postive you need to start to planning or what you are going to do. If it comes out to be negative, then you need to get on birth control or use a diagpham.

I don't think that you have anything to worry about, since protection was used. I think that when you are stessed out from worry, it can make your period late! It happened to me...just by worry it caused my period to be almost 2 weeks late!

Good luck!

Nikita agony auntHello, If you used protection and I presume you mean the condom and it didnt split then I think its unlikely that you're pregnant. At your age, periods can be a little unregular and take a while to settle into a routine so I would say its that. If you miss a period altogether then I would suggest taking a test just to be sure. You can buy pregnancy kits from any chemist but I would imagine that you'll see your period before then. Good luckx

A female reader, Amethyst United States +, writes (23 January 2007):

Amethyst agony auntWell, I can't tell you whether you're panicing or not because you never said how long you've missed your period by. If it's less than a week, don't worry for a bit longer, because at the age you're in it's irregular anyway.

If it's been longer, might I suggest a pregnancy test? They're relatively cheap from what I know. They aren't 100% accurate, but at least it'd give you a bit more info. But I suggest waiting until you've missed a month before trying the test (if it comes to that), that way, you won't waste it.

Good luck!
