Go to the doctor and explain that you have not had a period in 6 months.

Pregnancy should still be considered if you have continued to be sexually active since your last period. So that's the 1st thing the doc should do. In the meantime, if you are still having sex - use a reliable method of contraception becasue you could still get pregnant.

Your doc should also weigh you as rapid wieght loss/gain can cause periods to stop. You may also need an ultrasound of your uterus and some blood samples taken from your arm. The blood will be tested for certain hormones that in wrong amounts can cause periods to stop.

I too missed a whole 6 months out once. After the tests I was was found to have an imbalance of ovulatory hormones and was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome. 6 years later, it miraculously cleared up of it's own accord - no treatment, just 6 years of infrequent periods and I've been fine ever since. Just one of life's mysteries. They are not uncommon in girls of your age group

If you've lost too much weight, your body can stop having periods as it knows you can't support a child. Are you of average weight? Women with eating disorders can suffer from this.

I also once met a woman who was a work-out addict. She and her husband wanted to start a family and she couldn't conceive as she'd not had a period in MONTHS due to her crazy work out schedule. She too was thin, and BUFF... and miserable...

Hi dont panic, there can be many reasons for periods stopping. You may have a hormonal imbalance, poor diet if you arent eating correctly, stress or infection. You wont know unless you ask, so please go and have a chat with your doctor.

Sweetie, back to the doctor. Either you're pregnant, or you might be ill. Either way you need to know and quite quickly.
