A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Hello everyone,

I am 15 and I have OCD, (Obsessive- compulsive Disorder). I'm not a big fan of this but I have had it for about 6 Years.

It's really starting to annoy me now, I am ALWAYS paranoid that my boyfriend is cheating, paranoid my parents will turn their back on me, paranoid that everyone talks about me etc . . . I always have to put sauces in the cuboard with the label facing the front and I have to have the coffee, tea and suger pots in alphabetical order.

Is there a cure for this, since I found out from the doc I have OCD I have not ever considered finding a cure for it, but it's now starting to annoy me.

So, any cures or is it something al never be able to get rid of?

i don't no if there's any cures for it, but there are behavioural therepy sessions you can access through your GP which are designed to help OCD sufferers to cntrol and live with the condition much better. Sorry i can't help you any further as i'm not a professional on the subject, but best of luck:-)

softtouchmale2003 agony auntThey make anti-depressants and other medications that help control the symptoms of OCD. OCD could be a co-dependent condition so I would suggest going to a neuropsychiatrist and having that specialist try and find a way to control your symptoms.

The paranoia seems like its probably associated with anxiety which is caused by the OCD. Things aren't in the right order, you feel anxious and stressed; you get paranoid, paranoia causes more OCD as in picking up new obsessions, and then you live a vicious cycle.

Think of it as obsessive habits you pick up like lint on velcro. You can set things up so the velcro doesn't get lint on it, or at least doesn't get much lint on it. Best analogy I can come up with.
