writes:ok, i know this probably sounds extremely weird but a long time ago my first cousin and i hooked up and have been together for six years, well he just recently left me and i am crushed, even more so than when i got a divorce, i do not understand this, i have ever never been in a relationship with any family member ever in life, and i do not understand why i am so upset about this, considering he is my first cousin, i have never been so heartbroken in my whole life, its so weird, do you have any advice at all for me? i know, of course, it is definitely wrong to fornicate with your own first cousin, duh, but i am going crazy.

reader, anonymous, writes (9 June 2011): It isnt wrong to have sexual relations with a cousin. Because the laws of attraction still work here. If you have relations with a brother or sister then that is wrong.
But what if you didnt know you had a sister and by chance you married a girl who you later find out was your sister. Is that wrong.... It happens. The laws of attraction still apply. It is above you.
I guess you should get over him by crying alot and not stopping your self from crying. when you cant cry anymore you will be over him.
But if you natrually lock things up and deal with them in a different way then find a release. Dont turn to cannibis although it will solve the problem it will become a dependancy.

I don't think it really matters if it was your first cousin or your highschool sweetheart, when you are in love and your heart is broken it hurts, I know I can't mend your heart with words, and when people say it will get better with time that just seems to dig the knife in further. So allow yourself to hurt it's okay, but try to move forward baby steps at a time, do things you love, no matter how stupid, even if it's dancing around like a rock star in your pj's with a brush as your mic, you are free enjoy, enjoy the spastic things you hid well he was around. When I need a pick me up I buy a family size tub of cottage cheese and eat it rigth out of the tub. Do what makes you happy, enjoy the time you now have that your relationship is no longer taking up and do things just for youWish you all the best, as you baby step your way back into life.
