I have kept in contact with my ex, but lately he has been rude. Is it time to discontinue contact?

My ex and I broke up a year and a half ago. He moved to a different city quite a distance away and he can only keep in phone contact. I may call two to three times a year. Lately when I have called I have found him being a little rude and disrespectful. I am thinking that this may be my cue to discontinue this friendship. Any thoughts on why he is being rude and what I should do about it.

He has probably met someone else and you phoning is making the situation awkward for him. I think now would be the right time to cut all ties, if he wants to speak to you then he will call. I think he's moved on and maybe you should too.
